Job Description & How to Apply Below
About the Opportunity Our client is seeking a qualified, self-employed Aesthetics Consultant to provide non-surgical cosmetic treatments on a part-time, sessional basis. This is an independent contractor arrangement — the Aesthetics Consultant operates their own practice under their own insurance and professional registration, using the host clinic's facilities on agreed session days. This model suits a practitioner looking to build or supplement an existing aesthetics client base with flexible, self-directed working hours.

Role Overview The Aesthetics Consultant will provide consultations and treatments to their own client base within the host clinic's premises, maintaining full clinical and commercial responsibility for their own practice, insurance, and patient records, in line with the terms of the self-employed/room-rental agreement with the host clinic.

Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient consultations, including medical history, suitability assessment, and informed consent prior to any treatment. Deliver treatments strictly within personal scope of practice, qualifications, and — where applicable — prescribing authority. Where botulinum toxin is administered, ensure a valid prescription is in place following a mandatory face-to-face consultation with a prescriber, in line with current prescribing requirements. Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant patient records, consent forms, and treatment/batch documentation for all products used.

Manage own appointment bookings, client communications, and aftercare advice. Ensure full compliance with infection control, sharps disposal, and clinic health & safety protocols while using host clinic premises. Maintain own professional indemnity insurance and ensure it explicitly covers all treatments offered. Strictly observe the legal ban on cosmetic botulinum toxin/filler treatment for under-18s, and associated advertising restrictions on prescription-only medicines.

Essential Requirements (Mandatory) — UK Current, full registration in good standing with the General Medical Council — GMC (Doctor) or the Nursing and Midwifery Council — NMC (Registered Nurse) — mandatory for this role; non-medical/non-nursing practitioners will not be considered. Recognised postgraduate qualification/certification in aesthetic medicine or injectables, appropriate to the treatments offered. For botulinum toxin: independent prescriber status, or ability to work under a valid prescription following a mandatory face-to-face consultation with a prescriber.

Current, adequate professional indemnity insurance, explicitly covering all aesthetic treatments offered on a self-employed basis. Full awareness of, and compliance with, the Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021 (under-18 treatment ban) and current advertising restrictions on prescription-only medicines. Desirable Criteria Existing, portable client base. Level 7 (or equivalent recognised advanced) qualification in injectables, ahead of anticipated tightening of minimum training standards.

Experience with a broad treatment range — skin boosters, chemical peels, microneedling, or laser therapies. Social media/marketing capability to support building a client base within the host clinic's brand guidelines. Membership of a recognised voluntary practitioner register (e.g. JCCP, CPSA, or equivalent professional body). Person Specification Meticulous, safety-first approach to patient assessment and treatment planning. Strong communication skills, able to set realistic expectations and provide clear aftercare guidance.

Comfortable operating as an independent practitioner, managing own client relationships and business administration. Commercially minded, with an interest in building a sustainable client base within the host clinic setting. Committed to ongoing training as regulatory and best-practice standards evolve. Regulatory Context The UK aesthetics sector is in active regulatory transition, and current law does not yet universally restrict who may administer treatments such as dermal fillers.

This role, however, is restricted to registered healthcare professionals (GMC or NMC) regardless of…
