* Calculating, preparing, and managing total parenteral nutrition (TPN), continuous enteral tube feeds via nasogastric (NGT) or orogastric (OGT) routes, and supporting early express human milk / lactation administration.
* Monitoring vital signs continuously, including pulse oximetry, electrocardiogram (ECG), non-invasive blood pressure, and invasive central/arterial pressure monitoring.
Invasive Line Care & Neonatal Pharmacology
* Care and maintenance of central vascular access devices, including Umbilical Venous Catheters (UVC), Umbilical Arterial Catheters (UAC), and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC / long lines).
* Safe double-checking, dilution, titration, and administration of high-risk neonatal medications, IV antibiotics, inotropes, sedatives, anticonvulsants, and blood products via specialized syringe drivers and infusion pumps.
* Meticulous fluid balance management, blood glucose monitoring, and monitoring for neonatal sepsis, necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).
Family-Centred & Developmental Care
* Implementing Family Integrated Care (FICare) principles, empowering parents to participate actively in their infant’s daily care routines.
* Facilitating developmental care techniques, including skin-to-skin (Kangaroo Care), nest positioning, cue-based feeding, and stress-reduction strategies for fragile neonates.
* Delivering compassionate, clear communication, emotional guidance, and bereavement support to families during critical periods.
