Role Description

As an Arboriculturist, you will join our ecology team and support the full range of ecological and arboricultural surveys and assessments, providing advice on master‑planning, mitigation, enhancement design, ecosystem service and natural capital assessment.

As part of our Environmental team, you’ll help improve quality of life through work on protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality or noise in some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful locations.

Role Accountabilities
  • Conduct surveys and provide associated reports to improve quality of life sustainably.
  • Undertake BS 5837 2012 arboricultural surveys and produce associated reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements.
  • Conduct climbing surveys to inspect potential bat roosting features.
  • Provide general advice on arboricultural issues.
  • Complete arbor projects and advise clients.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Hold a suitable qualification (e.g., FdSc Arb, BSc or Technician’s Certificate in Arboriculture or higher) and membership of the Arboricultural Association or the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
  • Knowledge of BS 5837 2012 tree quality surveys, Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements.
  • Previous experience undertaking tree condition surveys and reporting suitable for planning applications.
  • Understanding of health and safety issues related to site survey and supervision.
  • Desired: LANTRA Professional Tree Inspector Certificate.
  • Desired: CS38:
    Accessing a Tree with Rope and Harness and Aerial Rescue.
  • Desired:
    Experience with database asset management software and tablet data collection.
  • Desired:
    Experience assessing trees for potential bat roosting.
