POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: QUALITY ASSURANCE and CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
REPORTS TO: QUALITY ASSURANCE and CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER
FLSA STATUS: SALARY EXEMPT
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Assistant Quality Assurance Manager ensures products or services meet quality, safety, and compliance standards by managing QC/QA teams, performing inspections, implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs), handles customer complaints, leading corrective actions and analyzing data to improve systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Helping develop and expand Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001
- Coordinating and conducting internal, supplier, and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance
- Investigating quality issues and implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Managing quality assurance teams, providing training, and ensuring production schedules are met
- Monitoring supplier performance through scorecards and audits to ensure material standards are maintained
- Editing quality procedures and work instructions as needed for compliance and operational efficiency
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
REQUIRED:
- Communicating with Supervisors, Peers and Subordinates
- Making Decisions and Solving Problems — analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems
- Getting Information — Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
- Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge — Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge

- Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards
- Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or minimum of 5 years’ experience in field
- Knowledge of industry-specific standards and software proficiency (Microsoft Office, QMS reporting tools)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or lead a team
