Quality Manager

Salary up to £60,000.

Location:

North Bristol. Permanent position. 37.5 hour week, Monday to Friday; 33 days holiday including bank holidays with options to buy or sell days; flexible working hours, potential for one day WFH. This global manufacturing organisation offers the opportunity to join their established, friendly and successful team working at their Bristol facility. The role reports to the MD and collaborates with other department managers and production staff.

• Quality Assurance – assist process owners to ensure business processes comply with industry standards, regulations, internal & customer requirements, and lead audit programmes.
• Quality Control – establish and monitor quality control processes to identify defects and deviations, and respond to customer complaints.
• Continuous Improvement – foster a culture of continuous improvement, analyse data and feedback to implement corrective and preventative action plans.
• Documentation & Reporting – maintain documentation related to quality processes, procedures, and performance metrics, and management review.
• Supplier Quality Management – collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality of incoming materials and components, completing audits where required.
• Training & Education – provide training to employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices; ensure all team members understand and are developed to be ambassadors/advisors of quality.
• Customer Delight – monitor and assess customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.
• Risk Management – identify quality risks and implement measures to mitigate them.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration – work closely with other teams such as Capture, Production, and Supply Chain to integrate quality into all aspects of the business.
• Regulatory Compliance – stay informed about relevant industry regulations and standards; ensure the organisation complies with all applicable quality and safety regulations.

• Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or a technical discipline, combined with a quality background, ideally in volume manufacturing.
• Certification in quality management, e.g. ASQ Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence, is desirable.
• Ability to understand and interface with engineers and read engineering and technical drawings.
• Flexible to travel to customer sites in the UK, mainly with occasional travel overseas.
• Analytical skills to identify and develop problem‑solving and solution‑based scenarios.
• Relationship management of immediate reports (x 4) and the wider production staff and teams.
• Aptitude to “see the bigger picture” and maintain regular connection with the global business, wider team and customers.
• Full driving licence required.
