General Description – include all relevant details from the source
The University of Bristol’s School of Arts is recruiting a Senior Research Associate in Philosophy of Language/Linguistics for a fixed‑term research position. This role forms part of an ERC-funded project, Expressing Value in Language (EVIL), led by a principal investigator, and involves working within an interdisciplinary team to advance research at the intersection of philosophy of language and linguistics. The work spans theoretical and empirical aspects of evaluative adjectives and their implications for broader debates within metaethics and linguistic theory.

The successful candidate will contribute to project development, engage collaboratively with team members including postdoctoral researchers and research students, and support the delivery of high‑quality research outputs in line with the project’s aims (investigating evaluative terms such as “good”, “bad”, and related phenomena). The position is full‑time and funded for three years under Grade
