This is an exciting opportunity to work with researchers, clinicians, universities and health and care organisations across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire to support the delivery of high‑quality research.

You will play an important role in supporting research governance processes, helping researchers navigate Health Research Authority (HRA) approvals and NHS assurance requirements, and ensuring studies are managed efficiently and safely across our system.

This role would suit someone with strong administrative and communication skills who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders and managing multiple priorities.

  • Provide advice and guidance on HRA approval and NHS assurance requirements
  • Maintain research databases and monitoring systems

  • Work closely with NHS organisations, universities and regional research networks
  • Contribute to reports, guidance documents and standard operating procedures
  • Support communication and knowledge sharing across the research community
  • Assist with training and induction activities within the team

You will work closely with the Research Delivery Officer and wider Research Team to help ensure research is delivered effectively across the BNSSG system.

Qualifications

  • Ability to use everyday IT systems, databases and spreadsheets confidently
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Interest in research, healthcare or governance processes
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion

We are committed to creating an inclusive organisation that promotes and values diversity. We know from experience that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger, more creative workplace that helps us to deliver the best services. We welcome applications which represent the rich diversity of our community; from people of all ages, disabled people, all genders, people from ethnic minority groups, LGBTQ+ people, people with diverse gender identity and expression, people from all religions and beliefs and other diverse characteristics, and we have processes in place to ensure that all applications are treated fairly and consistently at every stage of the recruitment process.
