Calling all aspiring chefs!

Quarter is looking for a part time Kitchen Assistant (25 hours per week) to join the team at the Square. This is a great stepping stone for those who want to gain more experience in the kitchen as the successful candidate will have the benefit of training up towards Commis Chef level. Details of the Kitchen Assistant role

Based at the Square in Clifton Bristol (a great venue for aspiring chefs who want to develop into the world of fine dining and seasonal cooking with refined plating)

25 hours per week worked over approx. 4 shifts each week split as follows:

• 8-10 of your weekly hours (approx. 2 shifts) per week will be carried out as kitchen porter washing up and cleaning down
• The remainder of your weekly hours (around 15 hours over approx. 2 shifts) will be worked as a kitchen assistant with more involved in food prep and service training you up towards Commis Chef level

This is a rota-based positions to include daytimes and evenings (and weekends)

£12.25 per hour plus a share of the service charge (paid monthly)

What will you be doing as Kitchen Assistant

Working a blend of Kitchen Porter and Kitchen Assistant shifts as follows...

On Kitchen Porter shifts

Washing up cleaning all plates pans and other items (all units have catering dishwashers)

On Kitchen Assistant shifts

Preparing food gradually building towards cooking on service. These shifts are designed to develop you towards Commis Chef level. There may also be some washing up or cleaning duties on these shifts

Acting as a great team player working with the team to make every service a success!

Our ideal Kitchen Assistant

• May have had some prior experience in a similar role but this is not required as full training will be offered
• Will have good availability across the week including weekends (as this is a part time role we are of course able to work around any days where you cant work due to other commitments within reason!)
• Will be a hard worker comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Will be a friendly and fun member of the team - willing to get stuck in!
• Will be keen to learn and develop as a chef
• Will be reliable and committed to supporting the venue they are working in
