Catering Assistants

We are currently looking for Catering Assistants to work in schools and care homes in Hertfordshire and London on temporary assignments.

You must have a minimum of 3 months experience working as a catering assistant in a commercial kitchen have checkable work references. It would be advantageous if you have your own car, however, we have work that is accessible with public transport. Job description You will be responsible for assisting the chef with the day to day running of the kitchen, ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and tidy and helping with general kitchen duties.

You will have a good communication skills and be able to work at a fast pace. A good understanding and training in food hygiene and allergen is advantageous although training will be offered. Key responsibilities Prepare food according to spec and standards Keep kitchen preparation areas clean and tidy Observe health & safety procedures at all times Assist with deliveries Wash and sanitise kitchen equipment Key skills Good communication Able to work effectively as part of a team Good work ethic Well organised and reliable Attention to detail Able to take instruction and stay calm in a busy kitchen environment
