A fast-growing advanced manufacturing scale-up in Bristol is seeking a Technical Sales Support Engineer to drive new business through high-quality bid and proposal delivery, while supporting customers across the lifecycle of complex engineering systems.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, sales, and customer success
, combining technical understanding with commercial execution. You’ll lead RFQ responses and proposal development, while acting as a key technical interface between customers and internal teams.
Working closely with leadership, sales, engineering, and operations, you’ll help secure new business and ensure successful deployment and long-term customer value.
Key Responsibilities Bid & Proposal Management- Lead coordination and submission of RFQs, tenders, and proposals
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to gather inputs
- Ensure proposals are aligned with customer requirements, timelines, and commercial strategy
- Act as a technical point of contact during pre‑sales and bid stages
- Support solution definition, feasibility discussions, and customer queries
- Assist in presenting technical concepts to customers in a clear and engaging way
- Support account planning and ongoing customer engagement
- Coordinate post‑sale activities including deployment, commissioning, and service support
- Help ensure customer success, satisfaction, and retention
- Experience in technical sales support, applications engineering, or bid/proposal writing
- Background in engineering, manufacturing, robotics, or a related technical field (degree or equivalent experience preferred)
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical systems to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Strong written communication skills, particularly in structured bid/proposal environments
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced scale‑up
- Experience with CRM systems and B2B sales processes
