Job Description & How to Apply Below
Key Responsibilities Manage and grow an assigned sales territory, meeting or exceeding agreed sales targets. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clinical stakeholders — consultants, surgeons, theatre staff, procurement, and clinical nurse specialists. Provide clinical/technical product support, including theatre cover, in-servicing, and product training for clinical staff. Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts. Deliver product demonstrations and presentations to clinical teams and procurement committees.
Manage tender and procurement processes where applicable, working with hospital purchasing/supply chain teams. Maintain accurate CRM records of accounts, opportunities, and sales activity. Provide market intelligence and competitor insight to the wider commercial team. Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes of practice and company policies (e.g. IMSTA/Med Tech Europe code, or equivalent). Essential Requirements Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or a related healthcare/clinical field.
Degree in life sciences, business, or a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience). Comfortable working in and around clinical/theatre environments, including infection control and sterile technique awareness where required. Strong understanding of the UK healthcare landscape, including NHS trust procurement frameworks and private hospital groups. Desirable Criteria Prior medical device sales experience, ideally within [orthopaedics / cardiovascular / wound care / surgical / diagnostics].
Clinical background (nursing, physiotherapy, or allied health) with a transition into medical sales — a recognised and valued route into this sector. Existing relationships with consultants/procurement within the territory. Experience managing tender processes and hospital group procurement frameworks. Full clean driving licence, essential for a field-based territory role. Person Specification Strong commercial acumen combined with genuine clinical/technical credibility. Excellent relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
Self-motivated and resilient, comfortable managing an autonomous, target-driven territory. Confident presenting to clinical audiences, including in theatre/clinical settings. Well organised, with strong CRM and territory-planning discipline.
