Job Summary
Our Security and Parking team are seeking proactive team players with experience of dealing effectively with members of the public. Transferable skills from hospitality are also valued alongside current security experience or a police/military background.
Role responsibilities include conducting patrols, responding to incidents, writing reports, and enforcing the site traffic policy. IT literacy is required for handheld device reporting. Strong communication skills and the ability to deescalate complex situations are essential.

- Conduct patrols and provide a professional, uniformed security presence across the Trust property.
- Respond to incidents, including investigations into suspicious behaviour, theft, and anti‑social actions, and record detailed reports.
- Support clinical staff during incidents, assist with detentions under the Mental Health Act 2007 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and apply lawful restraint where necessary.
- Maintain a safety presence in the Emergency Department on a rotational basis, intercepting disruptive behaviour and protecting patient service.
- Assist with fire alarm evacuations, liaise with trusted partners, and minimise risk to property and people.
- Uphold and enforce the Trust Parking policy, manage parking cash collections, issue charge notices (out of hours), and support traffic management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, report breaches and near‑misses, support risk management, and maintain accurate incident records.
- Work shift patterns on a rota basis (days, nights, weekends) – full‑time 37.5 hours per week.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous security role experience, including dealing with the public.
- Minimum of 2 years security experience preferred; police or military background a plus.
- Valid SIA licensing is desirable.
- Strong communication, honesty, reliability and punctuality.
- Good English language (spoken and written) at GCSE level or higher.
Full‑time permanent position with shift work across days, nights, and weekends.
