Are you an experienced body shop technician/painter and looking for a new challenge in the Bristol & Newport area? If the answer is “YES”, then you could be just the person we are looking for.

Automotive Repair Systems is one of the largest independent Mobile SMART Repair companies in the UK with over 160 mobile technicians. Because of our structured expansion programme we are now seeking additional mobile paint repair technicians.

The successful candidate(s) will provide a repair service to our trade and retail customers. The successful candidate(s) should have a valid UK driving licence, be physically fit, well presented, friendly, customer‑focussed and most importantly work to a high standard!

Successful applicants should expect to work Monday to Friday during franchised motor dealer opening hours.

Job Title:
Mobile Paint Repair Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality paint repair work to trade and retail customers.
  • Operate mobile SMART repair equipment and perform paint/paintless dent removal.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Travel to customer sites within the Bristol & Newport area on a daily basis.
  • Work effectively with the team and adhere to company procedures and safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records and reports of work performed.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years paint/wheel repair experience (preferably ATA/IMI/QAA and working to PAS 125 formats).
  • Good knowledge and application of fillers for paint/SMART repair.
  • Able to paint at least 2 vertical panels and blend for a seamless finish.
  • Great attention to detail and eye for colour match.
  • Customer‑facing experience in former roles.
  • Basic maths and English required.
  • Ability to offer some flexibility with hours as our customers require.
  • Excellent time keeper and self‑organised.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with modern mobile repair equipment and safety procedures.
  • Driving licence category suitable for deliveries.

All applicants will undergo a technical assessment at a regional centre. Travel expenses are reimbursed where appropriate. Successful candidates will receive full training on our processes and procedures.
