HGV Technician - Bristol

Position: HGV Technician
Location: Bristol
Shifts: 4 on, 4 off

Salary:

  • Day Shift: £20.38 p/h (up to £44,626 annually)
  • Night Shift: £22.60 p/h (up to £49,487 annually)

Role Overview: As an HGV Technician, you will work as part of a close-knit team, responsible for carrying out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a range of commercial vehicles. You will be expected to deliver high-quality work, ensuring all repairs are completed to the highest standards, right first time. You'll also play a key role in achieving team targets and maintaining a safe, clean workshop environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs on HGVs
  • Perform diagnostics and ensure repairs are quality-assured
  • Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working condition
  • Communicate repair needs to VMU Manager
  • Ensure time reporting and job completion are accurate
  • Contribute to the overall success of the workshop operation

Qualifications &

Experience:

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in HGV/Commercial Vehicle Maintenance
  • Proven experience working on HGVs in a fleet/commercial environment
  • Knowledge of safety standards and a commitment to quality work
  • A flexible, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • HGV Class 1 Licence (desirable)
  • Experience with tail lifts (desirable)
