We are delighted to be recruiting two new colleagues into our South Gloucestershire team to deliver an exciting new 1625IP service supporting young people seeking asylum. You will help young people increase their independence by developing the skills they need to integrate into the local community, manage their accommodation, and prepare for independent living.

We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. At 1625ip our work is rooted in Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and Trauma‑Informed Practice (TIP). Our Psychologically Informed Framework shapes how we build relationships, use our spaces, and support young people. This means we prioritise safety, trust, collaboration, and understanding the impact of trauma in every interaction. You don’t need prior experience in PIE or TIP to apply – we’ll support you to learn and develop these approaches in the role.

• By having a flexible approach to support and by being creative, you will help, encourage and engage young people through regular house meetings and 1‑2‑1 skill‑based support sessions, working flexibly over the week, including regular evenings and weekends.
• Through your enthusiasm, you will be able to work on your own initiative but also alongside the team, ensuring a safe and thriving home environment for the young people.
• You will build strong relationships with young people and other involved professionals.
• You are an able and confident communicator, who is flexible to recognise and respond to the different communication needs of others.
• You can confidently make decisions, particularly those that will safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable young people.

You will be in the Asylum and Refugee Team and your line manager will be 1625ip’s Asylum and Refugee Team Leader.

• Hours per week: 32 hours per week for each role
• Contract type: Permanent
• Pay: £30,024 – £31,537 per annum (pro rata based on 0.85
  
  FTE)
• The location: You will be based at the Patchway office and working in young people’s accommodation across South Gloucestershire.
