What will your responsibilities be?
Supporting the Front Door function, including screening new referrals and contributing to case allocation and workload management.
- Providing professional consultation, direction, and support to practitioners, particularly in complex or high‑risk situations.
- Leading safeguarding decision‑making, including coordinating and chairing strategy discussions where required.
- Undertaking statutory duties in line with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks.
- Managing a complex caseload, supporting adults and families where needs are challenging and require advanced practice skills.
- Supporting the development of team practice, including mentoring, supervision, and professional guidance to staff and students.
- Assisting the Team Manager in maintaining a positive team culture, performance standards, and evidence‑based practice.
- Contributing to multi‑agency working, ensuring integrated service delivery across partner organisations.
To be successful in this role you must have;
- Professional
Qualification:
MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW (or Occupational Therapy qualification with HCPC registration). - Registration:
Must be registered with Social Work England (or HCPC where applicable). - Significant post‑qualified experience within Adult Social Care.
- Strong background in safeguarding and complex casework.
- Experience providing supervision, mentoring, or leadership within a team setting.
- Expert understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding frameworks.
- Knowledge of Mental Health legislation is desirable.
- Advanced assessment, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to lead practice, manage risk, and support others in complex scenarios.
- Strong communication and ability to chair meetings effectively.
Practice Educator, AMHP, or Best Interests Assessor qualification.
