Our mission goes beyond individual support; we actively challenge and disrupt the systems that perpetuate inequalities in our society. With a proven track record of delivering effective support services, in 2025, we helped house over 1,500 individuals and provided support to over 600 of our service users, helping them to achieve their personal goals and lead fulfilling lives in their new country.

We are now looking for a Resident Engagement Officer to join us on a full‑time basis, working 37.5 hours per week, for a 12 month fixed‑term contract.

  • A fully stocked staffroom!

This is a meaningful opportunity for a community engagement professional with experience working with refugees, migrants or socially excluded groups to join our purpose‑driven organisation.

What’s more, with flexible working, training and development opportunities and the chance to be part of a social enterprise changing lives, this is a fantastic role in which to grow your career while making a real difference.

The Role

As a Resident Engagement Officer, you will support the delivery of our Social Housing Innovation Fund project, Trusted Voices: A Council of Elders Model for Refugee Resident Engagement.

Within this practical, community engagement role, you will work closely with the Resident Engagement Lead, delivering workshops, drop‑in sessions, peer discussions and other engagement activities that help residents feel heard, included and empowered.

You will also encourage participation through culturally responsive and trauma‑informed approaches and help identify and remove barriers to engagement.

Additionally, you will:

  • Build trusted relationships with residents and act as a visible point of contact
  • Support the organisation of Council of Elders meetings and engagement activities
  • Liaise with residents, interpreters and community representatives
  • Contribute to the development of accessible engagement resources
  • Maintain accurate engagement records, attendance logs and case notes
  • Collect resident feedback, case studies and programme data
About You

To be considered as a Resident Engagement Officer, you will need:

  • Experience working directly with diverse communities, particularly refugees, migrants, or socially excluded groups
  • Experience supporting or facilitating community activities, workshops, or engagement sessions
  • Experience building positive relationships with individuals from different cultural backgrounds
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information appropriately
  • An understanding of trauma‑informed and culturally responsive approaches to engagement
  • An awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and confidentiality requirements
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by refugee and migrant communities
  • To be educated to Level 3 or have equivalent experience in community engagement, housing, social care, youth work, or a related field

Due to the nature of this post, an enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful applicant, with their prior consent.

The closing date for this role is 15th July 2026.
