Project Worker

We are excited to be recruiting for a Project Worker to join our team at Charles England House in Patchway.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference by supporting young people, including young parents and care‑experienced young people, as they build the skills and confidence they need to move on to independent living.

We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. At 1625ip our work is rooted in Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and Trauma‑Informed Practice (TIP). Our Psychologically Informed Framework shapes how we build relationships, use our spaces, and support young people. This means we prioritise safety, trust, collaboration, and understanding the impact of trauma in every interaction. You don’t need prior experience in PIE or TIP to apply – we’ll support you to learn and develop these approaches in the role.

• By being empathetic and understanding, you will build trusting relationships with homeless young people, care‑experienced young people, and young parents by taking the time to understand their individual needs and the barriers they face. You will develop person‑centred support plans and provide one‑to‑one support to a small caseload, empowering young people to achieve greater independence.
• Using your knowledge and creativity, you will help young people maximise their income and manage their rent accounts, including addressing any arrears, reinforcing a positive rent culture.
• Through your enthusiasm, you will be able to work on your own initiative but also alongside your team, ensuring a safe and thriving home environment for young people.
• By being well organised, efficient, and effective you will undertake a host of housing management tasks, including preparing properties for letting, supporting young people in entering and leaving our service and health and safety checks to ensure the safety of young people, colleagues and the project.
• Using your organisation and IT skills, you will ensure a variety of records are kept up to date.
• By being flexible, you will work to a set rota, including evenings and weekends including lone working shifts.
• Applying or developing skills and knowledge of Supported Accommodation Regulations to support Care Experienced young people.

You will be part of the Charles England House team and your line manager will be the Charles England House Team Leader.
