Family Action Healing and Empowerment/PARCS domestic abuse and sexual violence counselling services deliver a wide range of interventions focused on children, young people (CYP) – North Somerset, and adults that have been impacted by domestic abuse or/and sexual violence within the communities of Portsmouth, Southeast Hampshire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset. This is an exciting opportunity to join the CYP/adult teams specialising in counselling survivors of sexual and domestic abuse, in a trauma informed approach.

Main Responsibilities:

You will join a bank of experienced trauma informed counsellors with the following responsibilities:  
• Provide 1:1 and/or group counselling (online or in person if in locality) for adults of domestic violence, sexual violence and/or sexual abuse in line with the commissioned time frames and objectives.  
• Provide 1:1 (online or in person if in locality) for CYP of domestic violence, sexual violence and/or sexual abuse in line with the commissioned time frames and objectives.  
• Undertake different stages of the pathway including triage, initial assessment tasks.  
• Have an active interest in working with those affected by sexual violence and domestic abuse and recognise the impact that trauma has in relation to this.  
• Maintain confidential, up to date and accurate records of all sessions and plans, carefully considering the sensitive nature of the work, regarding statutory investigations and court proceedings.  
• Use outcome tools to measure and monitor client well-being, to assess on-going risk, promote safety, collate data and to welcome service feedback.
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):  
• You will be client centred and committed to ensuring there is equality of access to the services and that service users are treated with dignity and that their specific needs are prioritised to improve their sense of wellbeing.  
• The post holder will hold a minimum Level 5 qualification in counselling/psychotherapy (Adult and/or CYP). They will be a member of BACP or other professional body. They will bring an experience of managing complex interventions and service models focused on trauma and promoting resilience. The post holder should be committed to continued professional development and have an exceptional knowledge of underpinning theories of practice models and interventions  and their application.

• You will have a strong track record in quality, performance, and safeguarding. With a client-facing approach you will be passionate about engaging our service users in all aspects of our work including co-production.  
• This role will be online although the option will be there for face to face if the successful candidate lives within the location of the offices in each area.
