Junior Software Engineer

Role Summary

An exciting opportunity to kick‑start your career as a junior software engineer in a fast‑growing, office‑based, hands‑on team. This role is ideal if you enjoy being a broad generalist – someone who likes connecting systems, figuring out how different technologies work together, and building practical solutions that make things happen.

You’ll be working across a range of projects and products, helping to integrate services, move data between systems, and turn complex processes into reliable, working software. We don’t expect you to know everything upfront – what matters most is your curiosity, your willingness to learn by doing, and your interest in understanding how real‑world systems fit together.

• You will help create and test software within a skilled team that likes getting things done.
• You will learn a range of current and new technologies from experienced software and hardware engineers.
• You will be given increasing responsibility for elements of each project as you continue to prove yourself.

There is flexibility in shaping the role around your strengths and interests, but some of the key technical areas you might encounter are listed below.

You’ll gain experience of a range of full‑stack relevant technologies such as
:

• Python, C#
• Video Streaming
• Complex data‑platform architecture, multi‑tenant, partitioned, and access‑controlled environments supporting secure and scalable data access
• Docker & Microservices
• Modern Web Applications built in React.js, and Type Script

• You are someone who enjoys learning new skills, finding out things and also learning from mistakes. We’d like you to be reliable, curious, and ready to deal with problems and get them solved. We strongly encourage those from under‑represented groups to be confident in applying to us.

You do not need to have any formal experience working in software, but you should be able to demonstrate your interest by having done something or worked on a passion project yourself. You might have built a full‑stack web app, made something interesting using AWS services, built and optimised CICD deployment pipelines, or some other relevant activity. You should have some familiarity with at least one general purpose programming language.

You will also be keen to contribute ideas to both the business and the social side of the company.
