Backend Engineer

We're currently partnering with a well-funded AI company that's building an ambitious AI-native consumer product from the ground up.

Backed by an already successful technology business with millions of users globally and over $100m committed to this new venture, they're assembling a small, elite engineering team to build one of the most ambitious consumer AI products currently in development.

The founding team already includes engineers from companies such as Google, Byte Dance, Instacart and Proton, and they're now looking for exceptional Backend Engineers who enjoy solving difficult engineering problems at the intersection of AI, distributed systems and production infrastructure.

This is a genuine 0→1 opportunity where you'll have significant ownership from day one, helping build the platform, infrastructure and orchestration systems that sit at the heart of the product.

The environment will suit engineers who thrive in fast-moving, high-autonomy teams and enjoy the challenge of building products from scratch. Previous experience as a founding engineer or within a startup or scale-up is highly relevant, although not essential.

The role isn't for everyone. The engineering bar is exceptionally high, the pace is fast, and there will be times where you'll need to wear multiple hats as the product evolves. They're looking for people who enjoy that environment and want to help build something from the ground up rather than join a large, established engineering organisation.

From a technical perspective, you'll be working across backend systems, AI infrastructure, inference, orchestration and distributed systems, helping turn cutting-edge AI capabilities into reliable production services.

They're far more interested in exceptional engineers than experience with a specific technology stack.

The roles are fully remote and Salary is negotiable depending on experience, with highly competitive packages available for exceptional engineers.
