Customer Delivery Driver - Yate Extra

Availability Window

We look for availability during the following times:

• Tue 12:00–19:00
• Wed 13:00–23:00
• Thu 17:00–23:00
• Sat 09:00–19:00

Pay and hours: Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £14.18 an hour; this increases to £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours each week for new colleagues, with the option to work as few as 12 hours.

We schedule your contracted hours during the availability windows and provide three weeks' notice of exact shifts. We support flexibility for those whose availability matches closely but not exactly to the advertised times.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver from the corner store to customers’ homes each day. This role is more than driving; it is about helping others and delivering great service with a smile.

Work is physically driven and varied. No two shifts are the same. You will feel like your own boss but have a team of Managers and colleagues ready to support you when needed.

• Ensure the van and trays are clean and tidy.
• Keep the back yard clean, tidy, and clear of rubbish, picking up litter as seen.
• Participate in the tray wash process.
• Load the van as required and check roadworthiness.
• Communicate with customers about order changes, substitutions and refunds.
• Treat products and deliveries with care.
• Explain no additional charges for substitutions.
• Deliver during the customer's time slot.
• Call the customer before arriving if early.
• Call the store/centre if running 30 minutes or more late.

• Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit.
• Maintain warm, welcoming interactions with customers and colleagues.
• Respond quickly to changing customer needs.
• Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations.
• Share improvement ideas with managers and colleagues.
• A valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic only) with at least 12 months history and no more than 3 penalty points.
• Over 18 years old; not a school leaver for roles requiring early/late shifts or specific areas such as warehouse, drinks, bakery or driving.
