The Urban Driver Apprenticeship is a 15‑month programme that will train you in all aspects of professional driving and, upon completion, enable you to move into a full‑time 7.5t Driver position  part of the programme you will also obtain the required CPC licence, which is a legal requirement to drive LGV vehicles.

During the apprenticeship you will perform a range of duties, including non‑driving tasks such as office work, driver‑mate duties and warehousing during training. You will also undertake regular training to broaden your knowledge and develop essential skills and behaviours.

• Represent DX in a professional manner at all times
• Carry out all tasks required as part of the apprenticeship training
• Drive vehicles safely and legally, ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements at all times
• Conduct daily checks, report defects immediately and complete correct paperwork
• Scan all products using DX scanning equipment
• Ensure all deliveries are loaded safely prior to leaving the depot
• Follow DX procedures and policies at all times
• Manage routing to ensure premium and timed deliveries are achieved
• Maintain correct equipment and PPE in good order and use it at all times
• Report all delivery and on‑road issues to traffic office immediately
• Ensure customer receives deliveries in excellent condition every time
• Deal with customer issues politely and effectively
• Make collections in line with given instructions and times

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of 12 months of UK driving experience
• Held Category B licence
