HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver – Bristol

Pertemps Bristol Industrial is seeking an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver for full‑time, long‑term work in Bristol. The role involves operating a Class2 vehicle, carrying out manual loading duties, and collecting and transporting waste and recycling materials across the city.

• Safely drive and operate Class2 HGV vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company procedures.
• Collect, load, transport and unload waste and recycling materials.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly.
• Tip vehicles at approved recycling and waste facilities.
• Accurately record daily paperwork and electronic logs using handheld devices.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
• Deliver excellent customer service and communicate professionally with colleagues, customers and the public.
• Work flexibly across different operational locations when required.
• Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.

• Valid Class2 (CategoryC) licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of HGV driving regulations, Working Time Directive and tachograph rules.
• Experience completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Comfortable using mobile devices and completing electronic paperwork.
• Reliable, safety‑conscious and a strong team player.
• Previous waste, recycling or commercial collections experience desirable, but not essential.

Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm (39 hours per week). Pay is £17.27 per hour. Overtime is available at 1.5× after 39 hours and there is a lot of overtime available. The contract offers long‑term opportunities with potential for permanent employment.

This is a physically active, outdoor role involving regular lifting, moving bins and recycling containers, and working in all weather conditions.
