Accounts Senior

Accountancy practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are partnering with a highly regarded firm of accountants in Bristol who are seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, delivering high-quality financial reporting, compliance, and advisory services.

In this client-facing role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring accuracy across all financial submissions, supporting and mentoring junior team members, and enhancing operational efficiency across the practice.

Manage a dynamic portfolio of clients, ensuring all financial reporting and submissions are accurate and compliant.

Prepare and submit year-end accounts, Corporation Tax computations, VAT Returns, and Confirmation Statements efficiently.

Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients, acting as a trusted advisor.

Arrange and lead client closing meetings to finalise accounts and manage expectations.

Mentor and support junior team members, offering training and feedback to aid professional growth.

Contribute to the development of streamlined workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Oversee the preparation of deliverables including accounts, tax, PAYE, and VAT, ensuring deadlines are met.

Provide technical guidance to junior team members and address client queries promptly.

Deliver clear, actionable advice to clients to support their business goals.

Maintain the highest standards of quality across client files and audits

Qualified or part-qualified ACCA / ACA / AAT.

Significant experience working within a UK accountancy practice.

Strong proficiency in accounting software and related systems.

Proven ability to manage and mentor junior staff.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional client service.

£40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
