Interim Assistant Accountant

Trial Balance are delighted to have been exclusively assigned by a new client, a well-respected education provider based on the outskirts of Bristol, to assist in their search for an Assistant Accountant. The role is offered on a full-time basis to commence in September, on an initial 12-month fixed term contract. There is however the potential for this role to turn permanent upon completion of the FTC.

This role works within an experienced finance team, reporting to a CFO & FC who will offer a good level of support. It represents an excellent opportunity for a candidate who wants to focus on their professional development, with study support on offer alongside a busy and varied role. Core components of the role to include:

• Working with the CFO to manage credit control
• Compiling financial analysis, forecasts and reporting packs
• Working with senior management team to set budgets
• Year‑end statutory accounting preparation
• Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
• Assisting in financial projects and system improvements

For this role we seek a motivated and career driven Assistant Accountant with at least two years of recently gained experience in a similar capacity. Candidates will ideally be fully AAT qualified and have a strong desire to achieve a professional qualification; our client is happy to support CIMA study. Those that consider themselves to be qualified by experience will also be considered.

This is a highly visible role that works with an energetic team and liaises with colleagues throughout the business, so excellent communication/interpersonal skills are required.
