Our Imaging Department have a number of vacancies for Imaging Support Workers! (ISW's)
As an ISW you will promote a friendly and welcoming environment greeting patients into the department and work alongside other Imaging staff. You will assist patient prior, during and post procedure ensuring their privacy and dignity is maintained. You will act a chaperone, reassure patients, keep the rooms tidy and escort and transport patients as required using wheelchair, beds trollies etc.
and coordinate the workflow coming through your designated working area.
You may be assigned to work in CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, Nuclear Medicine as well as covering Reception.
There are multiple sites within North Bristol including Southmead, Cosham, Clevedon and Yate Walk-in Centre.
There are various working patterns: covering between , 7 days a week including bank holidays.
We are offering full and part time hours - one of these part time posts will primarily be based at Yate Walk-in Centre.
This role is entry level Band 2 however upon completion of relevant competencies, there is an opportunity to progress to Band 3.
Main duties of the jobAn Imaging Support Worker is a member of the Team appointed to receive patients into the department and support other Imaging Department staff to assist patients to meet their needs when visiting the Radiology Department
The post holder will be expected to undertake a broad range of activities under the direction of registered Imaging department staff

Clinical:
Support registered radiology/nursing staff in the provision of essential care to patients by assisting patients whilst in the radiology department according to trust policy and procedures with:
Acting as a chaperone whilst undergoing examinations To assist in the Imaging rooms, giving explanations and reassurance Aiding dressing and undressing To be able to undertake reception duties when required
Help to promote and maintain a clean, comfortable and tidy environment in the department, which meets the needs of patients, their relatives/carers and friends
Contribute to accurate written and computerised documentation relevant to patient care ensuring confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Assist the multi professional team to prepare and support patients undergo treatment and/or investigation maintaining privacy and dignity at all times
Escort and transport non-acute patients with no treatment in progress and/or their relatives/carers to other wards and departments within the Trust , via wheelchair, beds and trolleys
Be aware of the importance of good health and the health education needs of patients as identified within individual care plans.
After completion of the appropriate training:
Prepare and undertake agreed clinical activities (These will vary between wards and departments) such as:a) Receive and store medication and productsb) Use of mechanical aids to assist movement and handling of patientsc) Assist with the preparation of trolleys for use in clinical areas
Person Specification Education and Tranining- GCSE grade A- C (grade 4 and above) or equivalent in English
- GCSE grade A- C (grade 4 and above) or equivalent in Maths
- Completion of or willingness to complete the Care Certificate
- Must have knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft word and outlook, good keyboard skills and a willingness to learn new IT packages
- Must be able to work as a member of a team and work independently
- Experience of time management skills and prioritising work
- Experience of patient/customer focused environment
- Experience of clerical and administrative duties, evidence of working to tight deadlines
- Demonstrate ability to work on multiple tasks with interruptions from more than one service user
- Must be able to produce work of an accurate and high standard, with competence in writing and recording information
