The Position – Teaching Assistant

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working within a specialist pre-verbal ASD class with 6–7 pupils, providing a high level of tailored support in a small, structured setting. You will help pupils access learning through sensory-based activities, visual supports, and alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to support individual education plans, encourage communication, and promote emotional regulation and independence.

This role requires a calm, compassionate, and proactive Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting pupils with complex needs. This is a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP.
