Specialist SEN schools and alternative provisions across Lambeth are looking for confident Youth Mentors to support pupils who benefit from strong role models, clear boundaries and consistent adult support.
These settings work with students who may struggle in mainstream education and often present with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), behavioural challenges or barriers to learning.
In these environments the adult presence in the room matters. Students respond best to mentors who remain calm, set clear expectations and build genuine relationships.
As a Youth Mentor, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams helping pupils remain engaged in lessons while supporting behaviour positively.

• Supporting pupils during lessons and structured activities
• Helping pupils regulate behaviour and stay engaged with learning
• Building positive and respectful relationships with students
• Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral teams
This role works particularly well for

• Teaching Assistants
• Support Workers
• Psychology Graduates
Experience working with young people, mentoring, behaviour support or alternative provision environments is highly valued.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is highly desirable.
