JOB SUMMARY:
As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert for on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of Caterpillar (CAT) Power Generation equipment and related systems. You’ll work independently from a fully equipped Ohio CAT service truck, servicing and performing:
- CAT diesel and gas generators (5KW to 3MW)
- Switchgear and ATS systems
- Control panels and electrical distribution systems
- Perform load bank testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance
- Use diagnostic tools (e.g., CAT ET (Electronic Technician), SIS (Service Information System), and other computer-based diagnostic tools/software) to troubleshoot issues
- Provide exceptional customer service and technical support
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and documentation standards
- Experience with CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or Detroit Diesel generator systems
- Familiarity with switch gear brands like Russ electric, Lakeshore, or Asco
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and control diagrams
- Military or field-based experience in equipment diagnostics and repair is highly valued
- Comfortable working independently in outdoor environments
- Must own and safely use personal mechanic’s tools
- High School Diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power generation systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in repairing diesel engines, generators, and industrial equipment.

- Repetitive Motions:

- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
