We are seeking a committed and experienced educator to oversee grant funding implementation and provide support and mentorship to Nursing Tutors. The successful candidate will work closely with tutors to enhance their understanding of providing support and mentorship to nursing students. This role requires a passion for improving educational outcomes for nursing students. Position consists of primarily day hours, with occasional evening or weekend hours, and may be at BHSON or online.
The supervisor will set their hours and availability as needed.
- Monitor program operations to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, outcomes, and expenditures.
- Develop and conduct regular program evaluation and assessment to measure effectiveness.
- Ensure tutors are trained on confidentiality requirements and reporting procedures.
- Organize refresher training sessions and skill-building opportunities.
- Supervise tutor performance and scheduling.
- Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings with tutors to provide feedback and support.
- Address performance issues through coaching, additional training, or disciplinary action as needed.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment among tutoring staff.
- Work with faculty to identify students who would benefit from tutoring.
- Monitor student progress and participation in tutoring sessions.
- Facilitate communication between tutors and students.
- Address student concerns or complaints regarding tutoring services.
- Track student attendance, progress, and outcomes.
- Prepare end‑of‑semester reports for grant funders, SH/BHSON administration, and Development Office.
- Analyze tutoring data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with student privacy regulations (FERPA) in all reporting.
- Monitor program budget and expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Approve tutor timesheets and coordinate payroll processing.
- Purchase necessary supplies, materials, and equipment within budget constraints.
- Occasionally observe tutoring sessions to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
- Collect feedback from students, tutors, and faculty to assess program effectiveness.
- Maintain personnel files, training records, and other required documentation.
- Serve as primary liaison between tutoring program, Dean, and Development Office.
- Document and report any incidents or issues to the Dean.
- Recent experience in education; nursing education preferred.
- Strong knowledge of best practices in tutoring nursing students.
- Understanding of grant funding management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in clear, understandable terms.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Professional demeanor and ethical conduct.

Hours:
Hours will vary as needed to complete the job responsibilities (not to exceed 200 hours per academic year). Compensation will be provided as a single lump sum payment at the end of each semester.
