EHS Coordinator
Location:
Greater Boston area. Salary: $25.00/hr – $37.00/hr.
We are a growing manufacturing organization with three plants across the United States. This permanent role requires a dedicated, proactive professional to develop, implement, and oversee Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, federal regulations, and industry best‑practice standards.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive EHS programs and procedures to maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate and deliver employee safety training programs to foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Investigate incidents, injuries, and accidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs, ensuring a smooth transition for injured workers.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Collaborate with management and staff to promote safe and healthy work practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety-related incidents and training activities.
- Stay abreast of new regulations and best practices in EHS and recommend changes to internal policies accordingly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an EHS role within the manufacturing industry.
- Extensive knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Proven experience with safety training, accident investigation, and risk assessments.
- Excellent understanding of workers' compensation processes and return-to-work programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is preferred.
- First Aid, CPR, and emergency response training is advantageous.
