Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly and is individualized to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, non-English speaking, and potential victims of abuse. The RN incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, our mission, vision, and values into nursing practice at Boston Medical Center.
Responsibilities- The Registered Nurse assumes full and ultimate responsibility for the quality of nursing care provided to individuals and groups.
- Includes health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning and restoration of optimal functioning and comfort or for the dignified death of those served.
- Within the parameters of education and experience, may delegate nursing acuities to other registered nurses and/or health care personnel, with the delegating RN bearing full responsibility for patient outcomes.
- Must have excellent assessment, clinical, organizational, and computer skills; ability to lift, transfer and move patients.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English and complete mathematical computations required to perform treatment protocols.
- Education:
Nursing Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred);
Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years - Certifications + Licenses: MA RN license, BLS

Previous OR experience
