Registered Nurse - Med/Surg 2B (32 Hours, 11p-7a) at Boston Medical Center (BMC).

Position:
Registered Nurse
Department: 2b Med Telemetry floor - OCE Unit, Ortho spine and Bariatric Surgical Unit

Schedule:

32 Hours, 11p-7a, Every Other Weekend, Benefit Eligible

• Provide nursing care addressing needs of patients across the age spectrum (infant to elderly) and adapt to individual needs related to impairments such as hearing, vision, substance use, language barriers, and abuse.
• Incorporate knowledge of patient rights, and the organization’s mission, vision, and values into nursing practice.
• Assume responsibility for the quality of nursing care provided to individuals and groups, including health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning, and restoring optimal functioning and comfort, or ensuring dignified end-of-life care when applicable.
• Delegate nursing tasks to other licensed staff or healthcare personnel as appropriate, while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate excellent assessment, clinical, organizational, and computer skills, including patient lifting/transfer capabilities and effective verbal and written communication in English; perform mathematical computations for treatment protocols.

• Education:
  
  Nursing Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred);
  Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required.
• Licensure/
  
  Certifications:
  
  Current RN Massachusetts license & BLS required
• Experience:
  
  1-2 years of acute Med/Surg experience strongly preferred in hospital setting
• Knowledge:
  Excellent assessment, clinical, organizational skills and charge capabilities
