Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (36 Hours, 11a-11p)

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides individualized care for patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly, and addresses specific needs related to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, non-English speaking, and potential victims of abuse. The RN incorporates knowledge of patient rights and the organization’s mission into nursing practice.

Responsibilities include health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning, restoration of optimal functioning, and, when necessary, dignified care for patients at the end of life. The RN may delegate nursing tasks to other registered nurses or health care personnel; however, the RN remains ultimately responsible for patient outcomes.

The RN must have excellent assessment, clinical, organizational, and computer skills; be able to lift, transfer, and move patients; communicate verbally and in writing in English; and perform calculations required for treatment protocols.

• Experience:
  
  Prior experience in an emergency department preferred.
• Education:
  
  Nursing degree required (diploma, ASN, or BSN; preferred). Ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years required.
• Certification/Licensure:
  Valid Massachusetts RN license and BLS required. ACLS and PALS preferred.

$38.10 – $77.63 per hour. This estimate is based on minimum qualifications; final pay considers education, experience, and licensure/certifications.
