Experienced Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

Full-Time | 7-On / 7-Off Schedule | 11 AM – 11 PM
Position SummaryBoston Medical Center Health System is seeking an experienced Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding Hospital Medicine team at BMC South. This role is designed for an advanced practice provider who thrives in a fast‑paced inpatient environment and is committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
Schedule & Workload- Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
- Average Admissions: ~8 patients per day
- MD Supervision: Available on-site for all admissions
- Support: Either the day team or nocturnist team will be available for transitions and support
- Perform admissions from the ED and direct transfers
- Conduct comprehensive histories and physicals
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute medical conditions in collaboration with attending physicians
- Develop and implement patient management plans
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, case management, specialty consultants, and ancillary staff
- Provide clear documentation in the electronic medical record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and care optimization programs
- Master’s degree as NP or PA from an accredited program
- Current Massachusetts NP/PA licensure
- National board certification
- Minimum 1–2 years of inpatient or hospitalist experience required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Excellent communication, organization, and patient‑care skills
