The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Speechify’s text-to-speech products turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites, and more into audio, helping people read faster, read more, and remember more. We offer an iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome extension, and Web app. Speechify has offices none and operates a 100% distributed setting with a global team.

With the growth of our iOS app, we are seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to support the new user base and work on exciting projects to push the product forward. This role is ideal for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about delivering great user experiences.

We are a flat organization that values technical excellence, consistent results, and strong communication. The interview process involves several technical interviews and we aim to complete them within one week.

• Lead key engineering and product decisions
• Actively shipping production code for the Speechify iOS app
• Work within a dedicated product team
• Participate in product discussions to shape the product roadmap
• Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture

• Experience with products that scaled to a large user base
• Track record of taking products from inception to traction and owning the engineering of the product
• Customer obsession and commitment to providing the best possible experience
• Product thinking and ability to support internal teams and designers
• Speed and focus — able to ship now or plan for later
• Technical skills in Swift and SwiftUI

• Swift programming language

• SOLID principles and writing well-structured code
• Git experience and understanding of Git workflows
