What You’ll Be DoingIn this role, you will help people advance in their journey with Christ by creating visual communications for the Gospel and the message of Battle Creek Church across print and digital media.
Your Day-to-Day- Ensure projects fit with brand guidelines and are of high quality; manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time and within budget.
- Participate in the creative process and execution for sermon series and special events, planning designs by studying the need and style of each ministry and contributing to the creative team on ideation and execution for other ministries.
- Collaborate with the creative team on all‑hands‑on‑deck projects, including capturing photos, assisting with video shoots, and being present at events for design updates.
- Demonstrate fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and a strong understanding of color, line, composition, and design.
- Perform other church duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Ministry Strategy to help all people, of all ages, all the time, advance in their journey with Christ.
- Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (not required) and 3‑5 years of graphic design experience. Ministry experience in a multi‑site environment is an added plus. - Alignment with the vision and mission of Battle Creek Church.
- Superior interpersonal abilities; ability to interact and collaborate with credibility, advising diverse personalities through tactful, mature and flexible communication.
- Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to independently and creatively apply problem‑solving skills and available resources to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ability to establish credibility and be decisive while recognizing and supporting the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Commitment to ownership of position competencies, continuously striving to serve others, collaborate, and complete all tasks with excellence.
- Belief that God’s Presence changes everything, excellent in a fast‑paced environment, embraces change with a positive attitude, and never settles for boredom because ministry is the calling.
Depending on the role, you might work in an office, on stage, out in the community, or behind the scenes. Evening and weekend hours may be required. The role is primarily office‑based but may involve physical activity such as standing, lifting (up to 20 pounds), kneeling, setting up equipment, or prepping for events—sometimes even late will ensure you know what to expect.
