Da/Pro Rubber is looking for a Mill Room Operator for the first shift, 5 AM - 1 PM

Millroom Operator

Non-Exempt

The Millroom Operator sets up, operates and tends milling and tube extruder machines to mix, mill and shape rubber or silicone material for molding. The operator uses job travelers and other documentation for specifications and conformance. This position works closely with plant chemists to ensure proper chemicals, dyes, creams, oils and other components are properly used when preparing to mill rubber or silicone material.

Under the direction of the Millroom Supervisor and/or the Millroom Lead, the Millroom Operator:

• Reads and interprets job travelers to assess specifications and to determine mixing and material instructions needed to mill rubber components;
• Observes the milling machine operation and adjusts controls to ensure conformance with specified tolerances such as mill speed, lubrication and density;
• Continuously tends the machine and the material, often feeding material back into the rollers and sometimes adding components until the material reaches proper consistency;
• Verifies dimensions of rubber material using various instruments such as rulers, gauges and calipers;
• Delivers samples to the lab for testing, as necessary;
• Removes rubber material and places it according to instructions on racks in the mill room or cold storage;
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to communicate details logically and accurately in English
• Must be able to obtain a Forklift Operators permit
• At least 3 years of experience working with heavy machinery preferred

Occasionally: reach above shoulder with both hands, lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

Frequently: repeatedly push/pull up to 65 lbs., walk, lift upward with both arms outstretched, count and calculate, communicate details

Constantly: stand, reach outward with both hands, handle/finger, wrist and elbow flexion, rotation and articulation

Other:
Near point non-color vision, sense of touch, tolerance for temperature in a non-controlled environment
