SummaryThe Paint Shop Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating all administrative and clerical duties in order to ensure effective and efficient operations within the Paint Department. Additionally, responsibilities may include preparing, priming, and painting parts on our units with the supervision of a qualified painter.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties- Ability to read, understand and communicate paint specifications to paint team.
- Work with Purchasing Department and outside vendors to ensure accurate product and equipment is ordered.
- Order all paint and equipment for department according to project specifications.
- Compute and track all paint consumption and maintain stock levels to meet production demand.
- Maintain air quality/waste removal documentation per regulatory requirements and ISO documentation.
- Document spooling, components and finished projects through the paint process.
- Maintain MSDS records for paint department.
- Work with Document Control to ensure all copies and needed paperwork have been received before shipping.
- Check and document coating thickness and blast profile requirements per project specifications.
- Provide requested documentation to Quality or 3rd-party Inspectors as required/requested.
- Deliver completed GPS logbooks to Shipping Department after project completion.
- Coordinate component and finished skid transportation with Material Coordinators and Assembly Supervisors.
- Support and assist helpers, painters and blasters as requested by Supervisor.
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment desired.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information.
- Must have very effective organizational skills.
- Effective listening, written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.
- Must be able to define surface preparation and coating systems to be applied.
- Must know how to properly mix and apply paint and clean painting equipment.
- Work under very limited supervision.
Fast-paced general office environment and some industrial environment. This role involves some standing, bending, squatting, lifting, and walking. It may also require lifting, carrying, and moving items up to 50 lbs. Many tasks are time-sensitive and demand a quick response.
