Position Overview

We are hiring a Level II Technician, Splicing to perform mid‑level fiber‑optic splicing on underground, aerial, and ISP projects across the country. The successful candidate will have the technical knowledge, skills, and experience to execute core splicing functions reliably and safely while meeting customer specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform mid‑level splicing functions for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing on various projects.
  • Read and interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrices to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Determine equipment needs, cable routes, cable direction, and safety best practices; perform splicing in live customer facilities.
  • Safely perform mid‑sheath cable entry using proper tools.
  • Perform mid‑level single and/or ribbon splices with understanding of large‑cable count numbering.
  • Read and process test results; troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Proficient in mid‑level OTDR and power‑meter testing.
  • Install and research procedures for splice enclosures.
  • Perform basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization.
  • Communicate effectively with internal training peers and external stakeholders (customers, subcontractors).
  • Respond promptly to critical situations and emergency outages with appropriate urgency.
  • Maintain full understanding of safety risks and adhere to all safety requirements and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Work Environment

  • Required safety equipment: safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hat, steel‑toed boots.
Experience and Education
  • 1–5 years of experience performing fiber‑optic cable splicing projects.
  • OSHA 10 certification (or ability to acquire within 6 months).
  • First‑aid and/or CPR certifications preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and capability to obtain a DOT medical card.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

The starting pay for this position is $22.00 per hour and may vary based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
