Our client, a global leader in combustion management and control systems, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join their dynamic purchasing department.
This diverse role offers the opportunity to support the purchasing manager with all supply chain activities across the group, ensuring smooth procurement processes and strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities for the Purchasing Assistant:
- Receive purchase requisitions from various departments including Manufacturing, Production, R&D, and Accounts.
- Raise Purchase Orders via the ERP system (Sage 200), monitor outstanding orders, and check delivery schedules.
- Manage Sage 200 MRP requirements, processing orders based on system outputs.
- Assist with supplier meetings, including price and delivery negotiations where necessary.
- Ensure accurate filing of invoices and purchase data to support management reports, aligning with company QMS standards.
- Maintain an organised and efficient purchasing department.
Ideal Candidate for the Purchasing Assistant:
- Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Team player with the ability to work independently and proactively
- Previous experience with ERP systems, preferably Sage 200 or similar
- Hold a full UK Driving Licence
- Some purchasing experience
