Education and Governance 0-19 Lead

The Education and Governance 0-19 Lead is a strategic role dedicated to developing and overseeing robust educational frameworks and governance systems for the 0-19 community public health nursing service in Lewisham. The role involves ensuring that all training and educational programmes, including those for pre-registration Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) students, health visiting, school health, community nurses, FNP, PAIRS initiative, are evidence based, compliant with NICE and regulatory standards, and aligned with the Healthy Child Programe

  • Take overall responsibility and provide expert advice on the development and provision of CYP nursing educational programmes.
  • Ensure that all training that is provided is in line with local and national standards.
  • Act as a specialist practitioner/role model in the area of education and training at a local and national level.
  • Work closely with the senior public health nursing team on planned changes to pre and post registration education programmes including new roles and the training that may be required.
  • Maintain a training needs analysis which reflects the needs of the service whilst ensuring compliance with national standards.
  • Monitor the quality of the content, delivery and feedback of all educational programmes across the department.
  • Participate as appropriate in the delivery of pre and post registration educational activity within the 0-19 public health nursing service.
  • Co-ordinate and deliver education to other healthcare staff as required.
  • Develop and implement innovative educational approaches.
  • Develop clinical competency assessment documents.
  • Prepare bids to secure funding which would enhance the delivery of education programmes.
