Behaviour Lead

Positive Behaviour Lead Specialist SEND School A specialist SEND school is looking for an experienced and compassionate Positive Behaviour Lead to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a behaviour professional who is passionate about supporting pupils with complex SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs , helping them develop positive coping strategies, emotional regulation and greater independence.

The Role As Positive Behaviour Lead, you will take a proactive approach to understanding and improving behaviour across the school. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, families and external professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent, individualised support. You will:
Lead the development and implementation of positive behaviour strategies Support staff in managing complex and challenging behaviour Develop individual behaviour support and intervention plans Analyse behavioural patterns and identify appropriate interventions Coach and support staff in de-escalation and positive behaviour approaches Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to improve pupil engagement Liaise with families and external professionals where appropriate Contribute to training and whole-school behaviour development Promote a calm, consistent and nurturing school environment About You The successful candidate will ideally have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH Strong knowledge of positive behaviour support and behaviour management Experience supporting pupils with complex or challenging needs Excellent communication and relationship-building skills A calm, patient and solution-focused approach The ability to coach and influence colleagues A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils

Experience with autism, communication needs, trauma-informed practice or restrictive intervention frameworks would be advantageous.
