This is an exciting opportunity to combine employer engagement, student support and vocational assessment in a role that makes a real difference. Working closely with curriculum teams, employers and students, you will help create meaningful workplace experiences that prepare learners for successful careers in the sector.

About the role

You will play a key role in sourcing, developing and maintaining work placement opportunities while supporting students throughout their placement journey. You will build strong relationships with employers, identify new opportunities within the sector and ensure placements meet both curriculum requirements and students' career aspirations.

Alongside placement activity, you will undertake workplace observations and assessments, monitor student progress and provide guidance to learners and employers to ensure positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities
  • Source and secure high-quality work placements and work experience opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers across the Health & Social Care and Early Years sectors.
  • Support BTEC, NCFE and T Level students to identify suitable placements.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to students regarding placement opportunities and career aspirations.
  • Conduct workplace observations and assessments in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Complete employer health and safety checks and ensure compliance with college policies.
  • Monitor student attendance, behaviour and performance whilst on placement.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to support employability and career development activities.
  • Promote and support the use of digital placement and employability platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports using Microsoft Excel and other systems.
  • Contribute to employer engagement activities, events and wider college initiatives.
What we're looking for
  • A Level 3 qualification or above in the childcare sector.
  • Level 2 English and Maths.
  • Experience or knowledge of work placements and employer engagement.
  • An understanding of T Levels and industry placement requirements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and achieve targets.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • A positive, flexible and student-centred approach.
Why join us?

This is an opportunity to work with motivated students and supportive colleagues while helping shape the future workforce of the Health & Social Care and Early Years sectors. You will be part of a team that is committed to providing exceptional opportunities for learners and building strong partnerships with employers across the region.

If you are passionate about supporting young people and developing meaningful employer relationships, we'd love to hear from you.
