About the role:

We are recruiting an Advocate Educator to work closely with GP practices in Croydon borough. IRIS is a domestic abuse training, support and referral programme developed specifically for general practice. You will promote the IRIS programme and offer DVA training to GP practice staff, as well as providing one-to-one emotional and practical support to a caseload of clients experiencing domestic abuse.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience of working with victims and survivors of domestic abuseand an understanding of the barriers to accessing support services
  • Experience of promoting services and building strong working relationships with external organisations
  • Experience of delivering training to a range of professionals
  • Ideally afull driving licence and access to a vehiclein order totravel to GP practices acrossCroydon

Location:

All staff have access to hot‑desking at our office as needed.

Flexible working iswelcomedat BCWA, with a mix of home and location‑based working across our friendly and supportive team. We are all women withbusylivesand families,and we understand that flexibility can be crucial in supporting women in the workplace.

Howeverthis role requires you to deliver training in GP surgeries and healthcare locations across the borough of Croydon.

As a trauma‑informedcharitywe take mental health and wellbeing seriously. We offer clinical supervision to our frontline team, regular staff wellbeing sessions, use of our Employee Assistance Programmeand anadditionalwellbeing platform which offers a range of advice and support.
