Senior Accountant – Firm of Accountants – Bromsgrove

A senior accountant position within a modern accountancy & business advisory practice offering responsibility and excellent long‑term career progression.

Company: A growing accountancy & business advisory practice with a modern style and an established presence in Bromsgrove. The firm has a well‑earned reputation as an advisor to entrepreneurs and owner‑managed SMEs and provides its clients with expert accountancy & business advisory, tax and outsourced financial management solutions using a variety of cloud and digital accounting systems to offer clients full visibility and understanding of their financial performance.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation and reviewing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited companies
  • Liaising with clients and being their point of contact
  • Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns and dealing with HMRC
  • Support trainees by providing on‑the‑job training and coaching
  • Identify opportunities to deliver additional services to the clients and highlight them to the directors
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and assignments
Qualifications & Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, corporation tax, VAT, income tax and the impact on the client overall affairs
  • Good analytical skills and a proactive approach
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage your (and colleagues’) workflow
  • Ability to see an account file through to director review
  • A skill set allowing you to deal with client queries, communicate effectively and provide exceptional client service
  • IT literate – familiarity with Sage, Xero and IRIS is preferable
  • Being a strong team player is essential
  • Minimum of 3 years practice experience
  • ACCA/ACAPart Qualified/Qualified/Qualified by Experience
