Job Introduction

Fixed term contract for one year.

Are you highly organised, customer focused and passionate about supporting projects that make a real difference? As a Project Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of economic growth, regeneration and community initiatives across Bromsgrove and Redditch. Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will help ensure projects run smoothly, efficiently and deliver positive outcomes for local communities.

Key Requirements

  • Provide administrative and organisational support to project teams, helping ensure the successful delivery of economic growth and regeneration programmes.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops and events, including arranging venues, preparing documentation and recording actions and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate project records, documentation and tracking systems to support effective project management and governance.
  • Support procurement and financial administration processes, including purchase orders and invoice monitoring.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations and briefing papers for senior managers, elected Members and stakeholders.
  • Collect and maintain performance information to help monitor project progress, outcomes and impact.
  • Provide a professional point of contact for businesses, partners and members of the public, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of providing administrative support in a busy office environment.
  • Experience of organising meetings, events and activities involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of basic project management principles and administrative processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Educated to Level 3 in a business administration, financial or project management related subject, or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
  • Professional, customer-focused approach with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluating projects or programmes.
  • Awareness of procurement procedures, financial administration and project monitoring processes.
  • Experience of supporting economic development, regeneration or community-based projects.
