Job Description & How to Apply Below
An exciting opportunity for an Educational Psychologist to make a real difference for academically able students, as part of a multi-disciplinary team working across three well-resourced specialist settings in Worcestershire. We are looking for an EP who shares our passion for embracing neurodiversity and enabling potential.
Applications are particularly invited from EPs with at least two years of post-graduate experience, although applications from EPs with less experience will be considered. We will fund ongoing training and clinical supervision and provide career development opportunities. The role is also suitable for more experienced applicants and the level of responsibility and salary will be adapted accordingly. Applications are welcomed from EPs looking for a full-time or part-time role, including term-time only options.
Our main site, provides a calm, home-from-home, low sensory environment in rural surroundings, carefully designed to support up to 18 pupils aged 9-17. Our students are unable to access mainstream school due to autism, anxiety or sensory needs and, while they have often struggled with the behaviour of others in mainstream, they are highly unlikely to display challenging behaviour themselves.
A second site, opened since September 2022, provides post-16 education for students of a similar profile.
Our third site, will cater for the same age range and profile as Lokrum and is due to open 2026.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing students’ needs and developing highly individualised support in co-production, including providing direct and indirect therapy and training Wider Ambition staff to embed strategies throughout the school day. An understanding of masking and school-related trauma is essential.
The successful candidate will have a positive and flexible approach, be patient and open-minded, be able to help students recognise and reach their full potential and understand the importance of working in co-production with families, colleagues, clinicians and the students themselves.
