Teacher – Design & Technology / English (SEN School) - Two position

Location:

Bromsgrove | Salary: £28,000 – £43,000 | Full Time (40 hrs/week)

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking passionate and skilled Design & Technology and English Teachers to deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching for pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

You will model professional integrity, work collaboratively within the school community, and promote a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

About the School

This is a small specialist SEMH school catering to pupils aged 11–19, many with Autism and additional SEND needs.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons in Design & Technology or English

Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories

Use assessment data to monitor progress and inform planning

Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through therapeutic approaches

Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning

Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support

The Successful Candidate Will:

Hold QTS or QTLS

Have proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour

Demonstrate strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in special education

Be able to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning

Show resilience, empathy, adaptability, and a passion for supporting vulnerable pupils

Commit to professional conduct, safeguarding, and inclusive practice
